KINU

INTRODUCTION
Kinu redefines the matcha bar as a spatial ritual rooted in stillness and reduction. Inspired by Japanese minimalism, the design strips away the unnecessary to create a calm, intentional environment within the dense fabric of Beyoğlu. A refined palette of wood and stainless steel establishes a balance between warmth and precision, while gradient lighting softens boundaries and introduces a quiet sense of depth. The space does not seek attention—it invites pause.
CHALLENGE
To create a contemporary matcha bar that resists the speed and noise of the city, while remaining culturally and visually relevant. The project required a balance between timeless minimalism and a new-generation spatial identity.

SOLUTION
The design is built on clarity and contrast. Wood adds tactility and warmth; stainless steel brings precision and a contemporary edge. Gradient light creates a fluid atmosphere, dissolving sharp boundaries. Every element is reduced to its essence—supporting a slower, more conscious experience. Kinu becomes not just a place, but a state of mind.
